Nick and Beverly met. Their parents were friends, and naturally, they got to know each other. They were only 8 years old when they met each other, at a party organized by their parents. Little Nick and Beverly were both walking around, and when they both saw something at the same time-a sugar strawberry cupcake, with a strawberry on top. They both approached the cupcake. And just when they were about to reach for the cupcake, they caught each other’s eyes. Being the fine little gentleman he was, he offered the cupcake to her. Little Nick seemed to find Beverly more and more interesting. When she removed the strawberry from the strawberry cupcake, Nick approached her and asked, “What’s a strawberry cupcake without a strawberry topping?” he was so curious at the sight. “Well, I don’t know. I just have this habit. I love strawberries, but it’s my habit.” She smiled at him. Nick suddenly felt that that smile of Beverly’s were the sweetest smile he has ever seen. “Miss, may have the honors of having you on the dance floor, with me?” Without any hesitation, Beverly chuckled, and gave Nick her hand. They were the limelight on the dance floor.
But, on that very night, something terrible happened. Nick’s parents, died in a fatal accident. That caused Nick to lose all his fortune, as Nick’s parents didn’t write a will; all of their assets were given to Nick’s aunt who threw Nick out of the house that very night. Beverly was devastated. She never heard of Nick again, and Nick didn’t hear of Beverly too.
After 10 years, Beverly was still a rich man’s daughter; she now had a face that every woman would yearn for. Those eyes sparkled in the dark. She knows how to play the piano, the guitar, the flute, the saxophone, she knows how to sing, dance, and she was just the perfect girl that every guy wants. Beauty, good family background, brains. Did I mention she was a top scholar in the nation? Every lady on the street would be envious of her by just seeing her face. Imagine if they knew how talented she was! But, Beverly still remembers that night vividly. She knows that one day, she would meet Nick again. So, regardless of how good the men who wooed were, she would still reject them. What she didn’t know was, the butler’s son, who was also her bestest friend, Edward, who was one year older, had this little thing for her. Beverly talked to him about everything. Including the story between Nick and her.
Hmm, I bet you are wondering about Nick now. He is now serving the army. How did he survive these 10 years you ask? His parents’ friend, Mr. Q and his lovely wife, Mrs. Q, adopted him and treated him like their own. They provided everything for him. Food, shelter, water, education, and of course, talent skills. The Q family was also a well off family, and was also good friends with Beverly’s parents. But, it was a pity the two didn’t meet each other even once these 10 years. Mr. and Mrs. Q’s biological daughter, Susan, two years younger than Nick, liked Nick a lot. But, like any other girl, she didn’t really dare to show it out. So she acted like she didn’t really care. Nick, who always treated Little Susan as his sister, tells her everything, regardless the horrible, good, comments she gives him.
The two people were destined to be together, regardless of anything. But, fate is so playful. And wouldn’t let things go that smoothly. How would they meet? Will they be together? What about Susan and Edward?
